Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Federal Work Study (FWS), and Federal Perkins Loans are all "need based" federal/state funds. The funding for these programs is severely limited. The University will award these funds, based upon availability, to students who demonstrate "need" as defined by Federal Regulations. As mentioned in the "Types of Aid" section of this web site SEOG recipients must also be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. Students are encouraged to complete the student financial aid application process as soon as possible each year prior to the time the funding for these programs is depleted. Federal Pell Grant and Federal Stafford Loan funds are currently not subject to the limitations in availability that exist for SEOG, FWS and Perkins funds. All students who wish to receive a student loan or FWS award must make this request on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
