2026 - Fall Mini-Term Two
All deadlines are at 12:00 midnight unless otherwise stated.
All dates and deadlines are subject to change.
Classes begin
Last day to drop or add a course (3rd class day).
Pre-registration period for Spring 2027 semester
Last day to disburse a Spring 2026 Direct Loan
Last day to drop a course with a "W" grade (24th class day) 5:00 p.m.
Please note that the tuition charges will still apply.
Last day to withdraw for Term Two (5 class days remaining)
Last regularly scheduled class day (Monday/Wednesday Classes - Nov. 30) (Tuesday/Thursday Classes - Dec. 1) Final exams given on last class day.
Entering Freshman 2027-28 General Scholarship Application Priority Deadline
Last day to accept a fall 2026 only Direct Loan
Last day to work fall Federal Work Study
* Drop – If you are choosing to drop one or more classes from a specific *term while still staying enrolled in at least one course. Dropping a course will result in a grade of “W” and tuition plus addition fees may be charged.
* Withdrawal – If you are enrolled in a course/courses as of the first day of the *term and you decide not to attend, you are withdrawing from the term. A withdrawal will result in a grade of “W” and a percentage, if not all, tuition will be owed depending on the effective withdrawal date.
* Term – Please be aware there are several parts of term for the summer. Maymester, 1st 5 week, 2nd 5 week and the 10 week term are each considered individual terms.
** Census Date (Pell Freeze) – Mississippi State University takes a census immediately after the end of each semester's add/drop period. This is known as the Pell Freeze Date. Your enrollment at the time of the census determines the amount of Pell Grant you are eligible to receive for the semester. If your FAFSA is received or finalized after the census date, your awards will be based on your enrollment at the time of review.
