Step 2: Confirm - that your application was received
Federal student aid applicants will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) as a result of filing the FAFSA.(Students
who file the FAFSA over the web will receive an email message from the Federal Processor directing them to their SAR online.)
Review the information on the SAR for accuracy and to be sure Mississippi State University is listed as a college to receive your
FAFSA results. Submit additional documents if required.
Application status updates for federal student aid and private alternative loan applicants can be viewed online
by logging into MyBanner with
your MSU NetID/NetPassword.
(this on-line status update capability will be available beginning late February or early March each year for the coming
school year).
The Mississippi Office of Student financial Aid in Jackson will notify you of state aid awards. If you are unsure call 1-800-327-2980 for updates.
