Step 1: Submit - Applications
Entering students must complete the MSU graduate admission application process before eligibility for student financial aid awards can be determined.
Federal Student Aid (Work and Loans)
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1st each year for the upcoming school year. You may submit a paper FAFSA or file it electronically We recommend that you file your FAFSA over the web. Click here for information about filing the FAFSA.
- If interested in a student loan and/or work-study be sure to check these boxes on the FAFSA. Click here for information on how to apply for Federal Work Study.

State Student Financial Aid (for residents of Mississippi only)
Several student financial aid programs are offered by the state of Mississippi through the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid in Jackson, MS. Some of these programs are offered specifically for teacher education majors, nursing majors, medical students and dental students. Students should contact the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid in Jackson for further information or an application.
